Introducing the Mach2.3

The third major upgrade in the illustrious life of the Mach2 Moth has been completed and is now shipping.

We've been working hard to make the Mach2 faster, stronger and more reliable, whilst only adding 150 grams to the overall weight.

The M2.3 incorporates production improvements, lessons learned from the Sorrento World Championships and sailor feedback.

This is the best version yet of the our 7 times World Championship winning boat.

2013 World Championships - Hawaii, USA

Bora 2013 World ChampIn October 2013, the best Moth sailors gathered in the beautiful surrounds of Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii to contest the 2013 McDougall+McConaghy Moth World Championships.

With venue constraints limiting the field to 80, the event was none the less contested by a hot field from across the globe with strong contingents from the USA, Australia and the UK.

The regatta was plagued by unseasonal weather patterns which killed the normal thermal breezes resulting in an ultra light wind regatta. Consistency was the key with two full days lost and a reduced card of only 10 races completed.

2009 World Champ, USA's Bora Gulari showed great form throughout in the tricky conditions and going into the last day had put himself in the box seat, 8 points clear of 2011 winner Australian Nathan Outteridge, with others including Aussie Scott Babbage and Brit's Ben Paton and Rob Greenhalgh also still in with a shot.

With 4 races planned on the final day, a tense wait unfolded with rain and clouds hovering, shutting down the breeze.

After hours on hold, the RC finally called it without getting a single race away, and with the 3 hooters, the crowning of Bora with his second World Moth crown.

Mach 2's took the podium with 1,2,3 and 17 of the top 20 spots. KA ended up securing 12 of the first 20 places with 3 of the top 5.
