Introducing the Mach2.3

The third major upgrade in the illustrious life of the Mach2 Moth has been completed and is now shipping.

We've been working hard to make the Mach2 faster, stronger and more reliable, whilst only adding 150 grams to the overall weight.

The M2.3 incorporates production improvements, lessons learned from the Sorrento World Championships and sailor feedback.

This is the best version yet of the our 7 times World Championship winning boat.

Elvstrom Zellerbach Regatta, San Francisco - Full Report

The West Coast Moth Fleet competed in The Elvstrom Zellerbach Regatta, held every spring by St. Francis Yacht Club. The event commenced on Friday evening at 6:30pm with five slalom races in front of the St. Francis bar, where crowds of spectators pressed nose-to-glass watching the thrills and spills. After several months of keel boat sailing Charlie McKee jumped into his Moth Friday night without any practice and put on a clinic for all the young guys, winning the slalom event.

Conditions on the Saturday morning were light with 12-14 knots and smooth water as wind speed and surface chop increased throughout the day. By the fourth race it was blowing 20 knots with a building ebb tide, which was enough to make the final race of the day very exciting.

Sunday saw 15knots and a smooth flood tide all afternoon. The final four races were completed with enough time for the fleet to hit the dock and pack their boats into boxes before the other fleets made it ashore. Eric Aakhus won the regatta, winning 7 of the 8 races, although several races came down to a photo finish with heavy air specialist Adam Lowry, taking second and Charlie McKee in third.

A big thanks to Robbie Dean and the rest of the StFYC crew who put together an amazing regatta. See you in the fall!
